Position: IT Salesperson/Consultant Responsibilities The role requires significant interaction with clients, which may be face-to-face or over the telephone. Tasks include:
understanding customers' diverse, specific business needs and applying product knowledge to meet those needs;
ensuring quality of service by developing a thorough and detailed knowledge of technical specifications and other features of employers' systems and processes and then documenting them;
cold-calling in order to create interest in products and services, generate new business leads and arrange meetings;
identifying and developing new business through networking and courtesy and follow-up calls;
preparing and delivering customer presentations clearly and confidently;
marketing and promoting a portfolio of products by writing and designing sales literature and through attending industry events;
developing effective sales plans using sales methodology;
meeting sales targets set by managers and contributing to team targets
networking with existing customers in order to maintain links and promote additional products and upgrades;
managing workload in order to organize and prioritize weekly and monthly goals;
contributing to team or progress meetings to update and inform team members
Working hours Working hours are typically 9 am to 5 pm. Longer working days may also be required for social evenings and conferences to network with potential customers. What to expect
This is a work from home position with occasional travel to potential and current clients. This person is expected to have reliable transportation.
There is a business-orientated dress code whenever dealing face to face with customers, except when working from home where dress is informal.
Weekly meetings or reporting with or to Manager to discuss any leads or new clients
Working with other team members to plan and implement IT solutions for new customers
At least 5 years experience as an IT Salesperson/Consultant
At least a Bachelor's degree (can be substituted with adequate experience)
MUST BE customer service oriented
Must have reliable transportation
Must have access to computer (cell phone will be provided)
This will be a contract position that is purely commission based in year one. After year one, if performance has been acceptable this will go to a full-time competitively paid position with quarterly bonuses.
